Presenter(s):
Lynn D. Miller, Ph. D., Faculty Emeritus, University of British Columbia
Description:
The workshop provides the most current, evidence informed model for how anxiety develops in children and adolescents, and how education professionals, therapists, and health care providers can engage kids and families in learning to manage anxiety. Emphasis will be placed on understanding anxiety disorders, which are often mistaken for other disorders or behaviours. Participants will learn the fundamentals of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy/Teaching (CBT) in fun and effective ways, leaving with practical skills to use with children, teens and families immediately.
